An abdominal compression board worn under the garment to keep the pressure across the abdomen flat and evenly distributed. Its shape is wide and winged: a rigid central panel flanked by two more pliable sections that curve with the flanks. Who is it for? The recovery period after abdominal liposuction, tummy tuck and body contouring, when what is needed is a stable flat surface across the front of the abdomen rather than simply softening the garment's edge. The rigidity of the central panel is what stops the fabric from creasing over the abdomen when sitting or bending. How is it worn? The board is placed on the abdomen, over a thin layer or directly against the skin according to the surgeon's instruction, then the abdominal garment goes on over it and is tightened until the board settles in place. The side wings follow the curve of the waist so the edges do not dig into the skin. It is used with a garment, not instead of one: on its own it applies no compression, it only redistributes the pressure coming from the garment. What sets it apart from its neighbours? LP-402 is a single board covering the front of the abdomen and relies on the garment to hold it, whereas LP-407 is a pair of lateral boards with its own elastic band passing around the abdomen.
